A lip reader believes that Kai Trump may have opposing views to President Donald Trump, at least when it comes to music.
According to a professional lip reader, Kai Trump praised Taylor Swift during a private and secretive conversation with Travis Kelce during a sideline moment at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, during TGL golf action on Tuesday. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end and the 18-year-old granddaughter of the president were spotted talking on the turf as Jupiter Links GC defeated The Bay Golf Club, 9-6.
Footage of the exchange quickly spread online, with viewers curious about what the two were discussing. Especially because Kelce is engaged to Swift, and Trump comes from a family that has publicly clashed with the pop superstar and her ideologies. Meanwhile, a PGA Tour star withdrew minutes before his Arnold Palmer Invitational tee time, with a replacement rushing in.

Lip reader Nicola Hickling analyzed the clip and believes Trump was complimenting Swift’s music.
“Oh, I love that and everything Taylor sings. She’s really good,” Trump appeared to say while adjusting her necklace.
Moments later, she appears to nod before responding again with, “Yeah, hundred percent.” Kelce then speaks, though his mouth is not visible from the camera angle, so his exact words couldn’t be determined.
Overall, the lip reading suggested that the interaction itself appeared relaxed and friendly. Kelce’s brother Jason, Trump’s mother Vanessa Trump and her mother’s boyfriend, Tiger Woods, also were in attendance.

Trump teased her mother about the relationship during a YouTube video dedicated to Valentine’s Day cookies. While the conversation remains unverified, golf is a clear, can’t-miss connection between Kelce and Trump.
The Chiefs star frequently competes in celebrity tournaments and pro-am events, while Trump is a competitive amateur golfer who made her LPGA debut in 2025 and is committed to playing college golf at Miami.
Kelce won the Closest to the Pin contest at the 2026 WM Phoenix Open Pro-Am, and previously teamed with Patrick Mahomes to defeat Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson in The Match VIII, which is one of golf’s most high-profile exhibition events.

Kelce also won the American Century Championship long drive contest in 2023 with a 363-yard drive. He also accidentally hit a woman in the head with a golf ball at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in California.
Donald Trump has previously criticized Swift publicly, famously posting “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” after the singer endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.
Despite that history, the brief interaction between Kelce and Kai Trump appeared completely cordial. And if the lip reader’s interpretation is correct, the conversation may have even included praise for Swift.
