Chris Slack, Sarah Cole, Jeff Preast, Danielle Monk, & Lucas Ware are staff members at the West Virginia Golf Association, as shown above at a community fundraiser in Charleston last year. (Alyssa Scragg is also a team member but not pictured.)
While the snow and ice from our late-winter storms melts away, these folks are busy arranging golf tournaments throughout the spring, summer, and fall all across West Virginia for golfers of every age and ability.
Earlier this week, registration opened for their 2026 golf tournaments. They’ve been preparing for that day all year, scheduling courses, offering rules seminars, and keeping the game so many West Virginians love alive.
With more than 100 golf courses across West Virginia’s hills and hollers, golfers can find a good place to play no matter where they find themselves in Almost Heaven. The WVGA’s events and VIP Card allow our citizens to play on top-ranked tracks for reasonable prices.
For making golf accessible throughout West Virginia, allowing folks to learn and grow in a lifetime sport played among family and friends, we are happy to name the staff of the WVGA as the certified Real West Virginians of the Week!
