I just played a round in Kyoto at Kyoto Ohara public course. I used Preserve Golf to book it for me, although you can easily book the course on your own. It was about an hour outside of Kyoto isn’t the subway and a bus. The golf carts drive themselves, you stop for lunch after 9, and the course was super fun and challenging although it was rainy and windy that day. The grass is like a type of straw, everything to hit out of but also why it looked brown. Apparently it greens up during late spring and summer.

Can I come next trip?
Do you know the cost difference between booking through preserve and doing it yourself?
The stopping for lunch after 9 will simply never make sense to me. I would tighten up so quickly
You lost me at carts drive themselves. Next you’re gonna say they don’t allow shotgunning on the tee
Don’t get me wrong, a $9 hot dog and a couple shitty beers is great and all, but sitting down for lunch at the turn seems so nice.
what’s the context behind this post?
How do the golf carts drive themselves? Is it a set path so like “cart path only” rules or do they know where your ball landed?
what happens next in the story
Seems reasonably priced?! I’m going in a few months might have to add this to my trip
Thanks for sharing your story and great pics. Some of the comments in this thread however make me realize what a cesspool this website/sub can be.
I’m going to Tokyo and Kyoto this November for my 50th. Planning on doing a Miura fitting. But I also want to get a round in.
Man, I’d love to see that place late in the spring on a clear, sunny day when all the grass is green and any trees or flowers are blooming.
