Just got fitted for the first time ever today. What a fun experience, Plaza Golf in Torrance, California treated me right and my fitter Bob (73 y/o btw) was so awesome. I've been playing golf for about 15 years and am a 3.9 hdcp. My latest set of clubs are Taylormade R11s (15 years old). I recently started working in the golf industry and figured I owed it to myself to get some new sticks and try out a new (to me) brand. My guy Bob got me fitted into some new 2026 Wilson Staff Blades with KBS C-Taper Tour 130X shafts, I'm kind of nervous to go with the Blades but he gave me the confidence and reassurance that I could grow into those much more than the CBs. I'm excited to see my game grow even more and thankful for a great fitting experience!

Grow into blades? You mean, can’t really hit them well yet?

As someone who’s never been fitted if you’re standard on everything did the fitting really do anything?

If I got fitted for a standard length set, no loft/lie adjustments, and a shaft the manufacturer offers, I’m grabbing the set online (new or used) or at a local shop for the cheapest I can find it. No sense overpaying for what they sell off the rack.

Amazing choice! I practice with a set of their last generation blades and the forgiveness is great with how they weight the toe. The new ones look incredible.

C taper and blades. You must be an absolute unit

My fittings have been basically like this – stock everywhere, except shafts.

IMO, the benefits are twofold. 1. Confidence. You know that the data says you cannot the ball the best with these clubs. 2. By testing a bunch of different iron heads, you got a better understanding of feel, top line look, etc so you k own what looks good to you.

I remember when he put a thin top line Titleist in my hands, I laughed. Promptly hit 2 thin and a shank. We dropped that as an option so quickly.

I should charge people for fittings.

Those are some sexy clubs. Anyone have thoughts/feedback on C-taper versus $taper? The boardier c taper is so tempting

Got fitted at plaza last year. Great place

Did he fit your lie angle in any other ways besides tape and a lie board? Use a lunch monitor or do the line on the ball fit? Using tape on the sole is not the best way to do that.

blue tape looks like it’s holding things together

Then you can hit old ferry donuts right after. Sounds like a great day!

Love my c taper 130x’s. Have the black ones. Best shafts I’ve used.

Gorgeous clubs, hope you get lots of rounds with them this season.

I’m hoping to hit the XB versions of these soon!

Got fitted at club champion. Loved finding out I paid $2500 more through them than my club.

Plaza Golf is fantastic! You will be so happy with your set.

  17. I just got my set (although I have the blades in 7-PW and then 4-6 in the CB). Love the feel and performance. More forgiveness across the face than I expected, as well.

What are your numbers looking like with a seven iron?

I’m not trying to call you out so please feel free to dm me. But I was wondering what your handicap is? Was wondering when the right time to get fitted is. Thanks!

Club Fitting that fit you to 100% stock specs? I guess it happens.

And those shafts are like a piece of rebar lol.
