BOULDER CREEK, Nev. – SWOSU Men’s Golf opened its spring season at the Las Vegas Desert Classic, where they finished 18th.

West Florida, the No. 3 team in the nation, led the way with a -12 finish, shooting a strong -18 in their final round as a team. No. 34 Lincoln Memorial earned second with a -6 finish, while No. 19 Colorado Mesa rounded out the top three at -4. No. 4 Florida Southern finished at -3, the only other team to finish under par. 15 of the 20 teams participating carried a national ranking. 

Ryan Carlisle led the Bulldogs with a T-42 finish at +5 for the tournament, serving as a consistent force each round with cards of 74-74-73. He totaled 10 birdies, five of which came in the second round.

Conrado Diaz Ermacora nearly mirrored Carlisle with rounds of 75-75-72, finishing one shot back at +6. He recorded eight birdies overall. In his final round, a triple bogey stood out in an otherwise even-par performance.

Ben Jackson moved up 16 spots on the final day thanks to an even-par 72 that featured seven birdies. He improved his score each round after opening with an eight-over 80. In his middle round, he shot a 78 with two birdies.

Samuel Moran went 77-79-78 with six total birdies, four coming in his final round. Maximo Douer also improved his score each round, going 82-80-73. He recorded four birdies in his final round, including one on his last hole.

The Dawgs will be back in action next week as they travel to Owasso for the Hillcat Classic on March 9-10 at Bailey Ranch G.C.
