GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) – Jackrabbit Run Golf Course has announced the hiring of Taytom Timbers as its new head golf professional, with Timbers taking over course operations in preparation for the 2026 season.

In his new role, Timbers will oversee daily golf operations and tournament coordination, according to the city.

New hire brings experience, familiar systems

Jackrabbit Run General Manager SaDonna Manfull said Timbers comes with prior experience at a property managed by Landscapes, the same management company overseeing Jackrabbit Run.

“I look forward to partnering with Taytom this year,” Manfull said. “He’s going to be learning all aspects of the business here at Jackrabbit Run. Fortunate that he’s actually worked with a previous property that was managed by Landscapes. He’s already got a lot of knowledge coming in of our point of sale system and the way things are done and the Landscapes culture, so a lot of that’s already taken care of for us.”

Timbers said the transition has included a quick learning curve.

“It’s been great,” Timbers said. “I mean, meeting a lot of great people around here. A lot of people who I should see in the season. But just getting thrown in day one, such valuable insights and a lot of things to learn and remember that I haven’t seen at my other clubs, so SaDonna is definitely helping me with those insights.”

Focus on player development and community golf

The city said Timbers joins Jackrabbit Run with a focus on player development, course operations and growing the game of golf at the community level. Timbers said he is eager to begin building relationships with golfers throughout Grand Island and the surrounding region.
