Tiger Woods ruled himself out for Tuesday’s final regular season TGL match vs. The Bay GC
Golf superstar Tiger Woods has confirmed he will not participate in Tuesday’s TGL match between Jupiter Links GC and The Bay GC, as speculation mounts over his potential return at The Masters.
The 50 year old Woods is on the brink of a professional golf comeback as he recovers from his seventh career back surgery. Just last month, the 15-time major champion hinted at a possible return at the upcoming Masters at Augusta in April with a succinct two-word update.
However, playing in Tuesday’s final regular season for Jupiter Links GC against The Bay GC is currently a step too far, leaving Woods just over a month to decide if he will compete at the Masters. Regardless of his decision, Woods will be present at Augusta for the annual Champions Dinner, which will be hosted by Rory McIlroy.
“I know I’ll be there,” Woods shared with CBS last month. “We’re going to open up the patch and Trev [Immelman, speaking at him and nodding] and I are going to be part of a great dinner.”

Woods remained noncommittal about participating in an official event before the Masters. “I don’t know. Whether it’s a regular Tour, Senior Tour or member guest, I don’t know,” Woods stated, reports The Mirror US.
He also acknowledged that his most recent back surgery was a significant challenge. He has been cleared to chip and putt but will continue to take cautious steps to avoid hindering his recovery.
“Well, the disc replacement has been one thing,” Woods said. “It’s been a challenge to — I’ve had a fused back and now a disc replacement, so it’s challenging.

“And now I entered a new decade, so that number is starting to sink in and has us thinking about the opportunity to be able to play in a cart.
“That’s something that, as I said, I won’t do out here on this tour because I don’t believe in it. But on the Champions Tour, that’s certainly that opportunity.”
The back surgery followed a March 2025 Achilles injury. Woods hasn’t experienced any further issues with his Achilles.
“Yeah, the Achilles was not an issue,” said Woods ahead of the Genesis Invitational. “I can’t dunk a basketball anymore, so don’t have to worry about that. As far as the disc replacement, it’s just sore.
“It takes time. Willy Z went through it, and it took him a while to come back. I’m a little bit older than Willy Z. It’s probably going to take me a little bit longer. My body has been through a lot.
“It’s just one of those things where it’s each and every day, I keep trying, I keep progressing, I keep working on it, trying to get stronger, trying to get more endurance in this body and trying to get it at a level at which I can play at the highest level again.”
