WALLACE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women’s golf team closed out the River Landing Classic with a third-place finish after three rounds of competition on Tuesday (March 3) at River Landing Golf Club.
Asheville posted rounds of 316, 302, and 297 to finish the tournament with a 915 (+51) team score, improving in each round of play. The Bulldogs recorded the third-best score of the final round (297) to secure the top-3 finish.
Caroline Patterson paced Asheville throughout the tournament, finishing third individually with a 218 (+2). Patterson carded rounds of 73, 74, and 71, including a final-round 71 (-1) that tied for the third-best score of the day.
Lauren Madson also turned in a strong performance, finishing tied for eighth with a 223 (+7) after rounds of 77, 72, and 74.
Breanna Hoese finished 16th overall with a 233 (+17), highlighted by a final-round 75 (+3).
Carly Sherman placed 37th with a 245 (+29), improving each round with scores of 87, 81, and 77.
Sydney Craven rounded out the Bulldogs’ lineup, finishing tied for 39th with a 247 (+31) after posting rounds of 84, 80, and 83.
Host UNC Wilmington captured the team title with an 874 (+10), followed by Kennesaw State (894, +30) and Asheville in third.
