WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary women’s golf kicks off the spring campaign on Monday and Tuesday, playing in the 26th annual River Landing Classic hosted by UNCW. It marks the second-straight season and fourth time in the last seven that W&M has competed in the event.
The 54-hole event will take place at the River Landing Golf Course in Wallace, N.C. and consist of 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday. Both days will be 8:45 a.m. shotgun starts. The event will be played on a par-72, 6,088 layout surrounded by scenic lakes, lush woodlands and the peaceful Cape Fear River that makes the River Course an immersive natural environment.

The Tribe closed out the fall season with a seventh-place finish at the French Broad Collegiate Invitational. The event was shortened to 36 holes with the Tribe firing a 636 (313-323). Junior Faith Garcia led the way with a 14-over, 158 (75-83) to place 22nd.
Tribe News and Notes
– The Tribe is trending for great improvement this season compared to 2024-25. W&M currently is averaging 924.00 over 54 holes, which is on pace to be 20 shots better than the team’s average from a season ago.
– W&M’s current round average of 309.82 ranks 10th in school history.
– The Tribe has had some solid all-around contributions this season which are highlighted by quickly glancing at the team stats. W&M has had three different players as its top finisher through its first four events of the year. The Green and Gold also currently have five players averaging between 76.63 and 78.64 this season.
– Junior Faith Garcia leads the Tribe with a 76.63 scoring average and a pair of top-20 finishes. Her scoring average currently ranks 18th on the program’s single-season list.
– A pair of freshmen are enjoying strong rookie campaigns. Lilly Reed Black and Reagan Garnsey both rank among the top 15 on the Tribe’s single-season rookie list. Black is 12th with a stroke average of 78.63, while Garnsey is 13th at 78.64.
