COLUMBIA — Locals will soon have a new spot for family fun, without the threat of rain or the Midlands summer heat.

Puttin Around, an indoor mini golf facility, is set to open on 326 St. Andrews Rd. Lexington County gave the green light to the project last month, according to Planning Commission documents.

The facility will open in a shopping complex off Bush River Road, neighbored by the St. Andrews Center shopping mall with tenants Ollie’s Bargain Outlet and New York Bride & Groom of Columbia.

The spot will open April 4, the business posted on Facebook.

“Columbia needed more places where people could just have fun — without melting in the summer, freezing in the winter, or canceling plans every time it rains,” Puttin Around’s website reads. “We wanted something cheerful, playful, and truly welcoming.”

Puttin Around will have “18 creative holes that spark friendly competition without ever feeling too serious,” its website reads. No reservations will be required to play, and it will offer special event bookings for birthday parties and group gatherings, its website reads.

The St. Andrews location looks to be the first opening of the company.

Pricing has not yet been posted, but the business will charge different price points for children under eight, kids aged eight to 16, adults aged 16 and older and group rates, its website states.

Its daily hours starting April 4 are listed as follows:

Monday — Closed

Tuesday — Open only for parties and events

Wednesday and Thursday — 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Friday and Saturday — 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Sunday — 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The business plans to stay open longer during the summer months and updated hours will be posted in the future, it said online.
