Shin splits are a common catch-all term for lower leg pain. But, if your pain is felt at the posteromedial aspect of the leg, I have a few suggestions for better management of this injury.
In the following video, we review some beneficial great toe and ankle mobility drills to increase range of motion if you found a lack thereof in the self-assessment. Having adequate range of motion is important, especially as mileage ramps up. So, stay ahead of the game to ward of shin splints.
