STOCKTON, Calif. (February 24, 2026) — Lubbock Christian University closed out its second event of the spring season Tuesday with an 11th-place finish at the RJGA Stockton Invitational, hosted at The Reserve at Spanos Park, as delayed opening-round play resumed and concluded before the final round was contested later in the day.
The Chaparrals posted rounds of 296 and 297 to finish at 593 (+17) in the 21-team field. Colorado State-Pueblo claimed the team title at 569 (-7), followed by Western Washington (576) and Colorado Christian (579).
Monday’s opening round was suspended before completion, forcing a few teams to finish the round early Tuesday morning prior to turning around for the final 18 holes. LCU entered the final round in contention for a top-10 finish but slipped one spot in the standings after posting a 297 in the closing round.
Senior Maximiliano Dufey paced the Chaparrals, tying for 16th individually at 143 (-1) after rounds of 71 and 72. Dufey was steady throughout, playing the par-3s at 2.88 (-1) for the event and finishing with 25 pars and six birdies.
Junior Noel Bondesson continued his consistent spring form, tying for 20th at 145 (+1) with rounds of 74 and 71. Bondesson ranked among the field’s most productive players on par-5s, averaging 4.63 (-3), and carded eight birdies over 36 holes.
Hayden Bowman tied for 69th at 153 (+9), while Hudson Reagan also tied for 69th at 153. Freshman Dylan Ford rounded out the lineup with a 36-hole total of 157 (+13).
Statistically, LCU found its greatest consistency on the greens and around par-3s. The Chaparrals ranked third in the field with 109 pars and fourth in par-3 scoring at 3.18 (+7). LCU’s 25 total birdies were tied for 16th overall. The team averaged 4.25 (+25) on par-4s and 4.98 (-1) on par-5s.
The event marked the Chaparrals’ second tournament of the spring campaign and featured several NCAA Division II West Region programs. It also served as a preview-style competition ahead of postseason positioning later this semester.
LCU returns to action March 16-17 at the Oak Tree Invitational in Edmond, Okla., hosted by Oklahoma Christian at Oak Tree Country Club.
