I’m a Garmin R10 loyalist because, for the overall value that it provides at its price point (when on sale), it basically cannot be beat for a garage setup. I mostly yawn when I see the new competition trying to compete against it in the sub $500 category. But, I would never come after Sean with pitchforks for pointing out the obvious flaws of the R10 because I love his perspective and because it is not a perfect unit. I’m considering both the Square Omni and Mevo Gen 2 as possible upgrade options for the future, so I’ll stay glued to this channel for more reviews and hopefully a head 2 head at some point.
Will you do a spica 3 or any golfjoy monitor review? I enjoy your takes.
I already ordered the ShotScope…very interested in seeing how it performs. To make this technology affordable to the average golfer is amazing. Can we now do this with drivers and those absurd prices?
So after Square announced the new monitor I sold my Square HE – and not because I wanted to new one. I was getting frustrated at the lack of communication and updates from the company. It had been months and felt like they forgot about the device – and then seeing the new Omni I lost my trust in them to continue with any support for the base product. This feeling got worse when I heard in an interview at the show they are also working on an overhead device. I wanted out while demand was still good so I sold it.
I think the biggest concern with Square and the Omni should be trust in their claims of "continued support." Will they update it for 6 months and then ignore it while they work on the next device again?
The software on the sqaure would not bother me. You can always get gs pro which works seamlessly and no added on subscriptions at all, so boom right there that's a huge win over all other competitors!!!
Hi Sean, thanks for the good reviews. I understand your focus on native software. When I first started looking into LMs and simulator play native software, computer/tablet requirements, etc. was a big consideration as I wanted to get in at the lowest possible price. I think for a huge number of people like me this is just an initial consideration before we go all in on GSPro, or maybe one of the new exciting looking projects soon to be released. Once people get a taste of simulator golf and being able to play at home, native software becomes far less important. Many of us want a hardware device capable of measuring all the ball data accurately, and even better if club data is also available. Thats all that we need. Accurate hardware only with no subscriptions and we don't care at all about native software. I bought the Square LM this past winter and I don't think I've ever used the Square software, other than the official GSPro connector. It's like buying a PC. The final user experience is indistinguishable between HP, Dell, Asus, etc. if all the hardware works correctly when you are using Windows, a web browser, your favorite software, etc. Foresight and Trackman are like Apple and Macs. Incredible hardware that locks you into an ecosystem. But what if you get equally accurate hardware that lets you choose your own ecosystem? I think this is why simulator enthusiasts like Square, ProTee VX, maybe GolfJoy.
the blue tees rainmaker would be incredibly appealing, if only it had a camera as well (for putting). That one reason alone is enough to justify (in my opinion) the extra $100 for Square Golf HE (or $660 if you use the promotional links that a few youtubers have, that still work today)
Do you know if the Shot Scope LM1 will have club/ball data, and tracer on the app? Thanks!
My nearest driving range is straight into a hill. So having a launch monitor that is 200 bucks would make the time I spend there more benificial.
Do a review on the overhead vtrack
Did a pre-order on the Omi this morning. The Rapsodo's going in the bin. Charging me hundreds of dollars per year to use GS Pro is a joke! You can't buy the balls in Canada and ordering from the states is 140 dollars a dozen. I ordered stickers from Australia. They last ONE shot! That's money well wasted! No subscription, no special balls….Sold!
Have you seen or done any research on the Par Breakers Swing Pulse X10? It's a new company launching in April. They were at the 2026 PGA show but I have not seen a lot of social media coverage. Curious if you had an opinion on where it would fit on the list of new monitors in this video. Thanks.
Great video like always Sean, really great updates coming.
I need your advice between Bushnell LPI and Skytrak st+. What you think is better option. I can get both at the same price but silver subscription make a sound for 199 with 5 courts and Skytrak core foresight subscription is 249. I want read your advice. Maybe I don’t see anything to decide
Can the R10 compete with the Mlm2pro??
Blues Tees is not accurate at all. The speaker I had would jump to other holes when I was in the middle of the fairway. Sent it back and won’t trust them at all. That’s why it’s cheaper. The LM1 is intriguing, hope it’s accurate 😎🥃
PRGR missed half of my shots. Do not recommend. On top of that, I tried to return it and they never even replied to a single email.
I preordered the Shot Scope last week. I figured for the price and supposedly accurate within 2 yards, it is worth a try.
I wont trust any Blue Tees products. I bought their rangefinder and started using the app this year when I got back into golf since it was cheap. App gave the wrong distances all the time, by like 60-70 yards sometimes. The rangefinder gets the job done especially for a golfer at my skill, but it give me different numbers every time i shoot a pin, its like a 5 yard range, so like I said good enough for me, but I bet they could get a lot better. Definitely budget products. Oh got their divot tool with the range finder, magnet popped out after 2 rounds. Almost forgot the speaker that came with the bundle… it doesn’t work unless you are using the blue tees app so you cant just play music off of it. The rope loop on it broke and I lost it on the course, somehow it got turned in when I asked almost a week later.
I do like the format and layout of the blue tees app for score tracking. So if you are looking for an app for only keeping your score and stats of your round, it’s good. I’m on Arccos now though, it makes my life too easy, harder to add penalties and what not, but it lets me keep my phone in my bag.
Preordered the Rainmaker. It says will ship early June! 😳 😂😢
Spica 3 sounds interesting. We should be able to buy a unit, pay for it and not be on the hook for annual payments.
Golfjoy software is as good as anything else out there and the unit is basically the same as gc3. Amazing
ALL THESE SUBSCRIPTION FEES ARE SO STUPID. WE ALREADY PAY OUT THE ASS FOR THE HARDWARE FROM ALL HESE COMPANIES. ITS BEEN THE BIGGEST REASON I'VE OBSTAINED. i REFUSE TO CONTRIBUTE THAT STUFF.
I was able to get a Uneekor QED overhead for 2600 and I went pretty cheap with everything else. 1080p projector, TEMU screen, DIY hitting strip. With my garage being used for so many things, it just seemed good to get an overhead and have things be out of the way.
I HATE Original Square. All of my complaints IMHO are from cheap hardware. New Omni however will clearly steal sales from $600 to $3000 monitors for the next 18 months BUT It's software (and customer support) clearly does not compete. 20% off at Voice Caddy with VDAY20 for Swing Caddie SC4 PRO Golf Monitor at $480 (same as Christmas pricing). I foresee constant sales discounts until this is the normal street price. Same for the Garmin R10 at $399. In comparison, MLM2Pro saw far more discounting in 2024 ($619) than 2025. It's a common strategy when having a smaller base. Same for Eye Mini Lite with $1,999 price now back at $2,750 (too high). All trying to survive competition. This changes in two years with faster, cheaper hardware. Yes, the new Square Omni is a perfect companion for $250/yr GSPro but Mevo Gen-2 is made for $300/yr E6 (partnership). E6 has efficient (using less CPU) commercial grade graphics but GSPro has better physics IF matched with an optical system. All optical (Rainmaker, MLM2Pro, Original Square, Spica 3) struggle in outdoor setup. Omni SHOULD fix this. Rainmaker, Spica 3, SC4 with Awesome best indoor combinations. Bye MLM2Pro. Cheaper SC4's radar better outside. But R10 wins due to HTH. As soon as you cross $600, you should be considering the Omni. Not until $3,000 should you be ignoring it. The best of 2026.
What’s the point of LM1 if it can’t get an accurate carry number??
I have the sc4 pro…waiting for the rainmaker to see accuracy. The sc4 pro is not super accurate. Especially the driver…ball flight CLEARLY goes straight to a little draw and the sc4 pro shows right misses…almost every time
I pre-ordered my Square Omni day 1. At the PGA Show they showed glimpses of the new software which looked much better, we shall see.
Very cool to see so many companies making LMs…I just got my G82 to test…excited to see how it goes…I’ve used a lot of LMs over the years (BLP, R10, PRGR, Flightscope Mevo and Mevo+, SkyTrak and SkyTrak+). I have a membership at a local PGA Store with a Trackman that I can use every day, but would like something for traveling, speed training, and linking with my Garmin Z30 and S70….this looks like a good fit.
I own the Spica 3 and don’t use their software. I run it with GSPro and also take it to the range or out on the course using the built in display. It’s just as accurate as the GS3, and the best part is I picked it up brand new for $2,600 with no subscription. Definitely a win all around.
For me, I like the idea of the Omni being able to be used on real grass. You can also use any ball with the Omni, no marked or radar balls needed. Also being able to use it indoors and outdoors with chipping and putting along with face impact.
I actually prefer a simple to use software, so we will see what the year brings us. Interesting to see how this all plays out.
FYI I saw this a few days ago it sounds to good to be true maybe take a look. The Spectrum Element is targeting a price around $1250, has no subscription for core features, full ball + club data, GSPro integration, onboard processing, open data access… and it was literally built from a prototype in a shoebox.
I tested the Golfjoy Spica 3, there are a lot of potential reasons it could be worthwhile but at this point it is not quite there yet. The software is incredibly lacking and there are a lot of bugs. It’s impossible to manipulate or filter the data in any way and certain data points/video show up in some places but not others. It also has some accuracy quirks in that the proposed solve from Golfjoy was to only place the ball in the back left quadrant of the hitting area. There were also consistent discrepancies with club speed and path readings compared to my Bushnell. It just didn’t feel clean or easy to use. Too many compromises. They are allegedly working on these things but did not feel comfortable keeping it
I have a uneekor eye mini and a square launch monitor and tbh because it’s so simple and I do use my square launch monitor more often especially since I can play sim golf for nothing and it is very accurate! I have always preordered the Omni and when I get it I will sale both the original square and my eye mini because the Omni will give me basically the same data points that the eye mini does and it’ll cost less than half of them both in cost
3rd party software with no fees. Square Omni for the win and not being greedy
I’m looking for a LM and Sim for the garage. As of now going back and forth with the SC4 Pro and Rainmaker (has anything came out from PGA Show?) after watching your videos. Any thoughts/insights?
You can't do a comparison if they aren't even available for the public yet.
I have the Bushnell Launch Pro and love it. Don’t love the $500 gold subscription which I don’t use. Only use GSPro. So I preordered the Omni and will see if I like it better. I may have a Bushnell LP for sale haha
Hi Sean, thanks for all of your intel. Great insight. Im in the market for a GARMIN R10. Would you recommend buying new or second hand ? Im on a budget and second hand is well priced o ebay for example, but is it too much risk being an electric device.
Regards MD
I've changed my mind from Flightscope to Square
Great preview of each Sean. I have been looking for something ti replace my BLP due to the Gold Subscription. But with the option of a $199 fee, i may continue with a proven unit that does everything I need, vs a new unknown like the Spica or Omni.
New ShotScope LM1 for 199 is a homerun!
The LM1 has a basically the new default speed training device
The holy grail is a cheap launch monitor that can read attack angle and spin without stickers or special balls
Love your videos and agree that the rainmaker sounds intriguing. How would compare the mlm1 to offers like the lm1? Feels like the mlm1 has a little more to offer at about the same price? Thoughts?
Hoping the Shot Scope launch monitor is more accurate than the Garmin G82.
ProTee Vx anyone??
If I bought the bushnell launch pro (old version) instead of the bushnell launch pro circle b – can I buy the silver subscription with the old unit? Thank you
