The Houston Rockets are having a disappointing season – do they regret the offseason Kevin Durant trade at all?

  1. He talks about con of getting older players versus younger is that older get injured more but in this trade, Jalen Green has been the most injured. That comment makes no sense here

  2. I was against the KD trade at the time. The opportunity costs was high. Trading away 10th pick before draft night is the most obvious of these costs. Furthermore you bailed out the Suns for no reason and made your two most valuable draft assets a lot worse with it. This was just horrible asset mangement. "Does the trade get me a step closer to win a title overall?" should always be the question if you think about trade. For me it was always a no.

  3. The rockets have never been good and their HC offense was always being covered by the rate at which they were grabbing offensive rebounds. The lack of any real development from sengun as a pnr defender and lack of any real 2-man game or development of any jump shot is one of the factors eliciting the current feelings by KD.

  4. What a take, it's not Durant, it's Udoka's lack of offensive prowess, but I guess you are more interested in YT bucks than legit analysis. Pretty lazy to lay this at the feet of Durant. As fast as disappointment goes, the Rockets are 3rd or 4th in a talented West and just a few games back of 2nd. Give me a break FFS.

  5. I feel like some of this is playing the results instead of really assessing the trade as it was at the time. Part of why it looks so good for Phoenix right now is Dillon Brooks is playing SO MUCH better than people expected he would so now it looks worse that he was included in the trade.

  6. Who are we? The real WE already what would happen, WE all agree with Draymond "We don't need you, we won without you"

  7. This creator and comment section is dumb…rockets are missing 2 of the top 5 players on their team if you take away that from any team in the nba they would decline

  8. Ime is not as bad as the fans think he is (yeah he's bad RN but not worst) well he's a defensive minded coach so I think they should get an offensive genius to complement that * Insert D'Antoni*

There are 2 problems that the Rockets have entering the 2025-2026 season

    1. Lack of PG – A true facilitator and stabilizer for the team. Yeah the Amen prototype PG will work sometimes, but when the game slows down it will be exposed. Just like when there are clutch games and Houston can't do anything outside of the predictable KD Sengun pick and roll. Personally, I know DLo is a dumb move but at least theres an outside threat and a decent ball handler (Slight lol)

    2. Lack of bench scoring/inconsistent help – We saw how inconsistent their role players are, waiting for Reed to develop? Until when? when KD retires? When Houston can't afford to pay him, Amen, Bari and Alpi due to salary cap? Oh Tari also demands a bag.

Adding to that, Houston's strength is their production on the 2nd chance bec of rebounding. Now Adams is out, and they're getting out hustled and out rebounded lately how can they kill with the same approach they're doing during the first couple of games.

  9. It’s not so much a KD problem , losing Steven Adam’s down low was a major blow . Sengun ,as good as he is offensively, has shown that he is a liability on defense . With Adams in the lineup he takes on the brunt of defensive assignments that sengun otherwise couldn’t handle .

  10. Wait a min we can’t act like this team doesn’t have key injuries, Fred will miss all season Tari Eason has missed 14 or more games same with DFS

  11. Hmm do i say it? I didnt love the deal. I thought they overpaid. You didnt even mention him trashing his teammates on the burner.

  12. How can they contend with important roster Pisces missing ! I can see if they was healthy! And the funny part is they are 3rd in the standings! This is banger hunting

  13. Houston wanted to give Phoenix Jabari Smith Jr., and Phoenix said no, its dillon or no one, so that probably answers your question.

  14. Houston Rockets does not have an offensive scheme besides passing the ball to Durant to bring up to the top of the key or pass it to Sengun. Isn't it clear the coach has no imagination or the chops for offensive schemes?

  15. Van Vleet and Dillon Brooks play nothing alike. So Brooks being there does nothing to replace what Van Vleet does.

  16. You’re a moron. He’s doing great without ball hogging. The problem is no point guard and unfortunately, udoka. Udoka refuses to play the hot hand, if you’re a role player and you’re doing good, he’s benching you. They refuse to let guys build chemistry. Tate, holiday, okogie and even Capela to an extent get limited minutes even if they’re doing well. Pick a core and stick with it. Green and Brooks unfortunately have been bitten by the injury bug too so it’s not like they’re mvp candidates. Also Thompson, Sengun, smith, Sheppard, and Eason have all been VERY streaky this year. You can’t expect a 37 year old to be great every single night, that’s just not sustainable on ANY nba team. Even after all of that AND their starting point guard who hasn’t played a single second this season, they’re 4th in the west. If anything they’re overachieving

  17. Why isa always Sengun or Durant if the team is not playing well? Where does not coach comes in? When has the coach taken responsibility lately?

  18. Apart from scoring, KD is overrated, he’s a bad rebounder despite being 7’0, he’s also a bad player maker, he doesn’t make his teammates better at all. He’s trash on Defense, and he’s not a leader, he’s a bus rider.

Never forget that the Boston Celtics swept him during the Bk nets days just for the Celtics to lose 4-2 vs the Warriors in the finals. The warriors never needed KD, and it’s been proven.

  19. Rockets are young team they should give Green more time KD is better yes but rocket are playing better with that young aquad plus Brooks imagine how good are they with brooks playing like am allstar this year. This is KD cursed 😅

  20. What a rollercoaster ride for Kevin Durant. He couldn't lead OKC to a championship then he went to Golden State he won two but most folks don't even count it because he did a weak move and after he left the Warriors he couldn't win another one.

  21. The Rockets can get out of this though, with the sonics coming in next year, I guarantee you could get a first and possibly more for KD cause the sonics will want a big name player to put butts in seats for the first year or two I could see them bringing Russ and KD back together just as I could see Vegas taking care of the LeBron problem

  22. Dorky Kevin just mad he’s never been number 1. Not in the draft, not in all star voting, not in accolades, not in being the best in the nba at any point in his mediocre career
