HUMBLE, Texas – The University of Houston Women’s Golf program sits in 12th place following the first two rounds of the three round Chevron Collegiate at the Golf Club of Houston on Monday.
 
Junior Maelynn Kim paced the Cougars across the 6,137-yard, par-72 course with a one-under 144 with four total birdies on the day. Kim’s Round 1 proved to be her strongest of the day, shooting a two-under 70 with a pair of birdies.
 
As a team, Houston sunk 35 birdies while senior Alexa Saldana sank an eagle on Hole 4 in Round 1 for a team score of 13-over par.
 
Thanks to five Round 2 birdies, senior Moa Svedenskiold finished the 36 holes of action at even par.
 
As an individual, Ellen Yates buried five birdies in Round 2 to lower her score to just one-over par.
