Local course in SoCal redid their range and these are the new prices.. Told them it seemed expensive, they replied back with “everything is expensive”.

Ok, I’ll crawl back into my hole.

Medium bucket more per ball than small is wild

  2. MadonnasFishTaco

this isn’t that out of the ordinary for southern california but if they don’t have a trackman in every bay there is no excuse for these prices.

  3. DaveInPhilly

I joined a club years ago, so I haven’t paid for a bucket of balls since the pre-covid days, but this is inline with what I recall paying. I think my range charged $18 for 120, or something along those lines.

Lmfao the structure is insane 7 dollars for $20 balls between small and medium then 50 balls for $5 between medium and large.

  5. BattletoadRash

The price for a medium doesn’t make sense. Better to get 2 smalls

  6. SportsBallBurner

That’s on par with the local trackman ranges

  7. ExponentialHS

Medium cost more per ball than Small. Says a lot about how little thought they put into this

  8. Ugarbro

Every range by me is so over priced. Anywhere from 18-20 a large basket

  9. gothcowboyangel

My local range just gives you a Coors bucket full for $5. Reckon that’s at least 100

  10. l2angle

That better be some crisp pro v1 coming outbid that machine

Can’t argue with that response tho lmao

thats on par with my local muni which has some pretty reasonable greens fee’s.

also just about double what it was 20 years ago.

Ever since Covid, popular ranges can charge twice what they used to. Shit, they almost *have* to overcharge, just to keep too many people from going there and overloading the facility.

I agree it’s sad but those prices look slightly cheap for So Cal, post-Covid.

  13. Accomplished-Tax-211

I’m paying $8 for 30 at my club.

  14. bdplayer81

These prices are a little better than what I pay at the range I go to in WI.

Looks like Select Pi! The software used on a lot of range machines. I’ve heard my course is going to dynamic range prices it’s going to be expensive this year.

The jump in price and balls from 50-100 is fd.

However my local municipality purchased all brand new golf balls last year and within a month over 3/4 of them had disappeared. They had to bring out the garbage golf balls to cover the season.

So more than likely, thieves and jerks are ruining this for everyone and not all the courses fault.

It’s why building my own simulator was the best investment ever. Big upfront cost, but I’ve more than paid it off when I factor in not buying range balls + gas/time getting to the range

seems pretty standard here in so cal tbh. I only know one course around that charges less than $20 for a large bucket and I feel like I’ve played most munis around so cal from absolute dog tracks to higher end

  19. ganslooker

I can pay 16.00 for a jumbo bucket OR 25.00/ hour on the tracman with unlimited balls. That’s pretty good my area. western NY.

  20. sk8lyfe8881

Garage sim looking like a better investment every day

  21. bch2021_

That is more expensive than here in San Francisco, at a nice range with TopTracer

  22. AJCJ9000

I can’t imagine hitting more than 50 balls in a session. 160? That would take me all day.

  23. FrankTooby

Regional Australia $12 for 45 balls, it’s the only one I know of so I am not sure how that compares.

  24. tfthisallabout

This is why I don’t practice and just play lol

  25. CricketNo7666

    That’s why I do a combo of…

Local course weekday membership, 100 bucks a month and one perk is unlimited range, and…

…my simulator in my garage, 300 bucks a year membership and all the range (and a few dozen courses) time from a mat I could ever want.

  26. Knautical_J

Damn the spot I go to is 200 Balls for $15

  27. sparkyASSASSIn3

This reminds me of a local course. It was cheaper to buy 2 small buckets than 1 large so I would do that and just put it all in a large bucket. Guy in the club house got super pissed at me for doing that

  28. ThrowinSm0ke

honestly, in NJ those prices are typical at a range with decent facilities.

  29. IndividualRites

Same pricing structure as my league course. Play 20 weeks and TOTAL COST is less than if we play 17 weeks. Geniuses running the place.

  30. yes_maybe_no__

If I had any other option, I would use it. I’m in Minnesota and a local range tried that. Everyone boycotted and they reduced pricing.
