Did Texas Just Build the Best Links Course in America? | Love Your Game Episode 1

There’s a course carved into the Texas Hill Country that shouldn’t be possible. It’s built in a place so dry some say it’s easier to grow rocks than grass. Yet it’s already drawing comparisons to Pebble Beach in some places… and Scottish links in others. We called 2002 PGA Champion Rich Beem to see if that holds up.

Inside this video, Rich discovers:
✅ Turf that’s only 6 months old but looks decades mature
✅ A horse barn clubhouse that stopped Rich mid-sentence
✅ The par 3 so weird, Rich grabs his PUTTER instead of his wedge
✅ A sunset moment on 18 that reminded him why he fell in love with golf

  2. Apparently moved away from Austin too soon. This course looks amazing. Would love to see a feature on Bandon Dunes!

  3. Why show a private club and course that we normal folk will likely never have the chance to play? Is there public access?

  4. I just moved from Minnesota to Bee Cave Texas. I’m 20 minutes down the road and looking to become a professional caddy. I hope somebody at the course sees this comment. Let me know if you guys will be hiring caddies!

  5. local austinite. ive been following this courses construction and development since its been announced that it was a David McLay-Kidd, shame ill probably never get to play it, id pay a very high premium but looks like I have figure out my multi million dollar business idea or win the lottery lol.

  6. Beautiful video, stunning course, and having Beemer narrate is the cherry on top. I'm playing there next week, can't wait!

  7. Never been to this channel but man, can you guys rethink your audio? I could barely hear much of what was said due to the music audio being ridiculously loud. I stopped watching after 5 minutes or so because I was tired of blowing my eardrums out just to hear what was said

  8. Did Beem play with his shoes on?!?! But, for real the course you need to do an investigation on is the one in Granbury, TX. Not a private course, not an executive course, not a fly in a play with the CEO course. It’s just a dude with his land, family, and a heart for good golf. And the only other people that will be playing on this course, other than his kids and himself, will be the Abilene Christian University golf team and those schools invited to play. Not sure why Spice Wood is a “new thing” just now, but the course in Granbury will blow this one out of the water. Keep your shoes on, God bless.

  9. No one wants this golf course. They scalped the land and stole our water. The last thing this area needs is someone using more water. Don’t do here. We don’t want you here.

  10. I don’t know how you got a permit for this environmental atrocity. It never should have happened. The was beautiful open land. Now it’s the ugly Wster hog golf course. Just go away

  11. I love Opie’s. The sweet & hot baby back ribs are killer. Don’t pass on the tater tot casarol. OMG!111

  12. sure would be nice for the city of Austin to open a couple of new courses….300 tee times available each weekend, 800 people trying to get tee times in a randomized fashion starting a 8PM on Mondays. Those of us that were dedicated enough get tee times on Tuesday mornings starting a 6am are now unable to play with groups we played with for years. Yet at the same time when lucky enough to get 2 times together we've showed up at the course, and it sure looked like times were available, implying people aren't showing up for their times. Maybe they should have to start implementing a non-refundable booking charge. Imagine the revenue if all 800 seekers were able to book and play..
