The story so far

Jacob Bridgeman will take a six-shot lead into the final round of the Genesis Invitational and is the firm 2-9 favourite to land his maiden PGA Tour title in the second Signature event of the season.

The 26-year-old American, who tied for eighth place at Pebble Beach last week, made seven birdies and two eagles on Saturday to card his second successive round of 64. Bogeys at the eighth and 15th holes were the only blemishes on his card.

It has left Bridgeman in a commanding position, although he will have to guard against complacency given world number two Rory McIlroy is the closest challenger to him on -13.

The Northern Irishman failed to get going during his third round, mixing three birdies with a bogey for a two-under-par 71, but he knows anything can happen and any early gains today would help to put Bridgeman under pressure.

A stroke further back on -12 is Aldrich Potgieter, who made six birdies, one eagle and two bogeys for a round of 65, while Englishman Aaron Rai is another shot in arrears after a solid 66.

The final pairing of Bridgeman and McIlroy are scheduled to tee off at 7.20pm UK and Ireland time. Expect scoring conditions to be good with light to moderate winds through the day.

Genesis Invitational final-round predictions

There will always be pressure on a player looking to make his PGA Tour breakthrough and that will be no different for Jacob Bridgeman, who could land his first success at this level in one of the biggest events on the US circuit.

The American has not buckled in his pursuit of greatness and his scoring prowess has been on full show at Riviera Country Club, as he leads the way in birdies (19) and eagles (three) and is also tied for fifth in bogeys with just four.

How Bridgeman handles himself playing alongside McIlroy will be interesting and if the Northern Irishman can put some early heat on his American foe, then it could make for a nervous 18 holes for the leader.

Barring the top two, it looks unlikely the tournament winner will come from anywhere else. Potgieter has performed well and he has the power to make things happen, but seven shots is a lot to make up and claiming the silver medal looks like a more realistic target for him.

Filling the runners-up spot will also be the aim for Rai, Kitayama and Schauffele, while Max Greyserman and Marco Penge are both on nine-under and find themselves four strokes behind McIlroy in second.

Looking into the top-three finish market could prove to be beneficial and Jake Knapp, who has been in consistent form in 2026, looks like a lively contender to achieve that at eight under.

Starting four shots behind third-placed Potgieter, the 31-year-old American opened up with a 73 on his Riviera debut on Thursday but he has since got to grips with this tricky layout, carding rounds of 65 and 67 to shoot up the leaderboard.

Knapp’s approach play and putting have been solid and there is plenty of juice in his price of 12-1 to finish on the podium.

A round of 74 on Thursday has cost Scottie Scheffler the chance of success this week, but scores of 68 and 66 for the last two days are evidence of his class and he looks capable of enjoying a strong finish in California.

The world number one has saved his best for the final round of his last two events, signing for a 64 at the Phoenix Open and a 63 at Pebble Beach, and he has the ability to overcome the current five-shot deficit to the top five places.

The top-20 finish market also provides plenty of value and there is lots to like about quotes of 3-1 for Tony Finau to achieve that. The American is only two shots adrift of this mark heading into the final round and he has improved each day, posting scores of 72, 69 and 68.
