The five-time Masters winner joined the CBS duo on their coverage of the Genesis Invitational.

Nantz said, “So McIlroy will defend, Scottie will be there, anybody else you know might be playing this year.”

Woods replied, “I know I’ll be there – we’re going to open ‘The Patch’.

“Trev and I are going to be part of a great dinner.”

The Patch is Woods’ course at Augusta, which will reopen in April after a 16-month renovation.

He and Immelman will also attend the champions dinner as former winners of the tournament.

Nantz interjected, “I didn’t ask that, I just thought maybe you knew someone that might play.”

And Woods grinned, “Yeah absolutely, I know a lot of people that are playing.”

Nantz’ broadcast partner Immelman tried a more direct approach with Woods.

He asked, “Is there a possibility that you can get out there?”

To which Woods replied, “There is.”

The 50-year-old was then asked by Nantz if he would play a tournament before attempting a comeback at the Masters.

Woods said, “I don’t know, I don’t know, whether it’s regular tour, senior tour or member guest, I don’t know.”

Woods also revealed this week that he was offered the chance to be USA’s Ryder Cup captain against Europe next year in Ireland.

The golf icon said, “They have asked me for my input on it, and I haven’t made my decision yet.

“I’m trying to figure out what we’re trying to do with our tour.

“That’s been driving me hours upon hours every day and trying to figure out if I can actually do our team, our Team USA and our players and everyone that’s going to be involved in the Ryder Cup, if I can do it justice with my time.

“Serving on two boards, and what I’m doing for the PGA Tour, I’m trying to figure out if I can actually do this and serve the people that are involved and serve them at an honorable level.”
