NEW YORK – DePaul golf freshman North Chery earned BIG EAST Golfer of the Week honors, Friday, following a career-best fifth-place finish earlier this week at the Wexford Intercollegiate. It marked Chery’s second-straight top ten finish of the season.
Chery carded a 54-hole total of 211 (-5) over the two-day event, tying for the fifth-best finish under par by a Blue Demon golfer since 2000. On the opening day, he fired a 68 (-4), helping DePaul to a season-best team round of 285 (-3).
Chery joins teammate Dominic Lucchesi as the most recent Blue Demons to earn BIG EAST Golfer of the Week honors. Lucchesi received the distinction on Sept. 25, 2024 – becoming the first DePaul golfer honored since 2019.
