Rhode Island’s Most Beautiful Seaside Golf Course?

Everyone talks about Pinehurst. But tucked away on the Rhode Island coast lies a course that Donald Ross spent over two decades perfecting, one he called home. Sakonnet Golf Club isn’t famous, it isn’t loud… but it might be one of the most soulful golf experiences in America.

In this episode, I explore the history, architecture, and quiet magic of Sakonnet Golf Club, a Donald Ross masterpiece overlooking the Sakonnet River in Little Compton, Rhode Island.
From its windswept coastal holes to the understated charm of its clubhouse, Sakonnet reveals why Ross’s influence runs far deeper than just Pinehurst No. 2.

If you love classic golf course architecture, hidden gems, and the finer side of the game, this is one to watch.

  1. Love the spotlight NE golf is getting on this channel, keep up the great work. Member of an old Donald Ross in MA myself which is criminally underrated. Playing Misquamicut this week, which in my opinion one of the best courses I've played. Up there with Fishers, Kittansett, etc. Just under the radar.
