Duty Free Americas has once again rallied the global travel retail community, raising $1 million for cancer research at its 11th Annual Charity Golf Tournament in Miami.
Held on 5 February at the Trump National Doral Golf Club, the sold-out event brought together hundreds of industry executives and partners in support of the Dolphins Cancer Challenge (DCC) and research at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The 2026 edition introduced several new experiential elements designed to elevate the day’s format. Branded hospitality bars from Moët Hennessy and Pernod Ricard added a premium touch to the course, alongside curated photo moments and a lively programme hosted by MC Dale McLean. During the event, DFA also shared an update on its forward-looking strategy, outlining upcoming projects and new initiatives for the business.
A significant boost to the fundraising total came from the Miami Dolphins, which matched all funds raised on a dollar-for-dollar basis, amplifying the impact of the industry’s collective contribution.
Jerome Falic, CEO of Duty Free Americas and Principal of the Falic Family Foundation, said: “The continued support of the global travel retail community is truly inspiring and this year we were able to raise $1 million collectively to support life-saving cancer research. A long term partner of Duty Free Americas, the Dolphins Cancer Challenge is on track to surpass $100 million in total funds raised, a truly remarkable milestone that will make a real difference in the fight against cancer. We are deeply grateful to everyone involved.”
The day’s activities included an 18-hole scramble golf tournament and a tennis tournament, culminating in an evening reception featuring cocktails, dinner, a silent auction and raffle.
Founded in 2010, the Dolphins Cancer Challenge is the Miami Dolphins Foundation’s flagship health initiative and the largest fundraising event in the NFL. This year, the DCC is on track to surpass $100 million in cumulative funds raised, supporting innovative cancer research at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Through its long-standing partnership with DFA and the Falic Family Foundation, a $1 million commitment has been made to further advance life-saving research.
For Duty Free Americas, the annual Golf Day has become more than a calendar fixture. It represents a powerful example of how the travel retail industry can unite behind a shared cause, combining commercial relationships with meaningful social impact.
