Could we see Tiger Woods at Augusta in April?
He hasn’t ruled it out.
Asked if the Masters is off the table, the 15-time major winner simply said, “No.”
Speaking ahead of this weekend’s Genesis Invitational, a tournament he hosts, at Riviera Country Club in San Diego, the 50-year-old Woods updated the progress on his comeback from a lumbar disc replacement surgery in the fall.
“Well, I’m trying, put it that way,” Woods said. “The disc replacement has been one thing, it’s been a challenge. I’ve had a fused back and now a disc replacement, so it’s challenging. And I entered a new decade. So that number is starting to sink in and I’m thinking about the opportunity to be able to play [the Champions Tour] in a cart. That’s something, as I said, I won’t do out here on this tour, because I don’t believe in it, but on the Champions Tour, that’s certainly an opportunity.”
Woods has not played since missing the cut at The Open Championship in 2024. His last PGA event was the 2024 edition of the Genesis where he withdrew in the second round dealing with the flu. His last Tour win came at the 2019-2020 Zozo Championship in Chiba, Japan in the fall of 2019. The Stanford product’s most recent major win came at the 2019 Masters where he earned his fifth Green Jacket.
The 2026 edition of the Masters tees off on Apr. 9.
