LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. — Tire tracks are visible throughout a few holes within Lee’s Summit’s Legacy Park Disc Golf Course.
It’s unclear when it happened, but the damage is recent.

“Disc golf is slowly getting better and bigger, but the amount of courses are still pretty low… so having one in our city is pretty cool,” Ben Akers shared Monday.
He said he saw photos online of the damage, before seeing it in-person Monday.
“When I pulled in, I was looking for it to see how bad it looked,” he said. “The City of Lee’s Summit, Parks and Rec, taxpayers living in Lee’s Summit… we all put forth an effort, whether it’s financial or parks and rec putting in time and effort into making it nice… its discouraging. It’s a disrespectful act by somebody that doesn’t really care about anybody else.”
Within park rules, “Motorized vehicles are prohibited on the course and in all park areas by city ordinance.”
“The enjoyment people get out of it… like it’s really a shame that somebody just had to come up, and for no other reason, than just mischievous fun, which… it’s not fun for the rest of us because now it’s messed up when we are all trying to use it,” another park goer, Christopher Peterson said. “There’s a time and a place and I don’t think this is the time or the place because it’s a community space. It’s not for your ruckus fun.”
