A leisure operator has submitted plans to transform a golf centre into an indoor water park and more than 500-room hotel.
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council previously backed the plans in principle and will now consider the application from US based Great Wolf Resorts’.
It states the company’s ambitions to build a 512-bedroom hotel, water park, restaurants and retail space at the current site of Basingstoke Golf Centre on Worting Road.

If approved the firm said the plans would deliver “significant economic, social and environmental benefits including substantial and far-reaching investment in the area”.
The area will remain as a golf centre until the development progresses, subject to getting planning permission.
Great Wolf operates 23 indoor water park resorts across North America, in the United States and Canada, and it has plans to create three sites in the UK in Oxfordshire, Derbyshire and Hampshire.
