According to a statement released by Details – Hospitality, Sports & Leisure, the resort’s management company, the project focuses on modernising infrastructure and sustainability, including the reconstruction of greens, renovation of bunkers, and the upgrading of access roads.
A central focus of the intervention will be water efficiency, through modernising the irrigation system and pumping station, and implementing quieter maintenance operations.
Nuno Sepúlveda, co-CEO of Details, emphasises that this long-term investment aims to protect the quality of play and the heritage character of the Jack Nicklaus-designed course, ensuring that the space returns “stronger and more resilient” in the future.
The project is part of Arrow Global’s responsible investment strategy in Portugal, reinforcing Monte Rei’s position as one of Europe’s best golf destinations.
In addition to the 18-hole course, the complex will continue to offer its luxury infrastructure, including villas, apartments, and catering services, integrated into a portfolio that encompasses 12 golf courses and 23 hotels across the country.
