The Mizzou men’s golf team completed play at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate on Saturday, finishing 16th of 19 teams in Hawaii.

The Tigers posted their best tally of the week with a score of 290 during the final round, posting a total of 875.

“It was definitely a tough week for us,” said Mizzou head coach Glen Millican. “We need to be tougher in these conditions. It was difficult out here but our goal is to perform well in all conditions. We will get back to Old Hawthorne and be better prepared for Colleton in two weeks. MIZ”

Senior Virgilio Paz led Mizzou throughout the three rounds, placing 49th overall at +7 (71-73-73). Paz recorded four birdies during the final round of play – one more than he had in the first two rounds combined – to finish as the team leader for the first time this season.

Veikka Viskari and Reese Roberts finished second and third on Mizzou during the tournament, while leading the team in scoring in round three. Roberts posted a team-best 71 with three birdies over his final 10 holes to lead Mizzou on Saturday with a three-day tally of +12 (75-76-71). Viskari added a 72 on Saturday as he finished +10 during the tournament (71-77-72).
