Bottom line is none of them are forged and that means potentially questionable for feel compared to others. Testing them you can't do easily…I'm being pedantic..or am I? 🧐
In my opinion James. They are not an improvement on the first iterations. I own the 201s and they are very good irons for the price for sure. If I could afford the P790s however they would be in my bag. Takomo is all about budget done extremely well.
My 78 year old man just bought and recieved the 1st gen 101 just this week. Going from Ping, Cleveland, ect. I was shocked he went with them honestly Surprisingly good looking
I was in a set of game improvement irons (cobra forged tec x) for years and thought about getting the 101mkII’s but two days ago pulled the trigger on a set of 201 mkII’s and Takomo wedges. Can’t wait for them to arrive!
I liked the original offerings from Takomo and was tempted by the old 201s, but you couldn’t pay me to play the new ones. They look cheaply made and being and I liked that the old 201 was a forged iron but the new cast iron really puts me off.
Using Ping G700's. Cost approx £400 for 5 iron to wedge. Put golf club touch up paint on the bottom groove, midsize Golf pride grips on them. Black dot and 1/2" longer which is my fitting. Which would you prefer James???
I bought the original 101's as I think they look better than the MK2's. I'm getting older and want forgiveness. Why make the game any harder than it is . 😉

One comment. Based on the actual dispersion, I think your Full Swing doesn't impress with its accuracy. It showed a front to back dispersion of 9+yds. for both pitchingv wedges, but the ACTUAL dispersion looked within a couple of yds. of each other.
As I would have to customise mine so I cant return them. Therefor, feel uncomfortable buying them with out seeing them and maybe getting a feel for then. I wrote asking if I could buy a 7 irom foe get a feel for them, but they ingnored me.

I like your CB'S best out the Takomo range of Irons the best. James, you hit Irons more consistent than driver.
