After the stellar round, Campbell credited his patience as the reason he was able to score so well.

“Just staying patient,” Campbell said. “I’ve played a lot of golf in Australia and sort of when it starts firming up like this. Just putting the ball in the right spot. I feel like I’m putting well at the moment, so just giving myself plenty of chances. You know the old cliche, plenty of fairways, plenty of greens and just sort of try and let the putter do the talking.”

After holding the overnight lead going into Round 2, Bryson DeChambeau shot a solid 5-under 67 leaving him at 11 under and just one shot behind Campbell and two behind Rahm. DeChambeau relied on his short game to escape trouble on multiple occasions, including when he made a 20-foot bogey save on par-3 14th after taking two shots to escape the greenside bunker.
