We’ve put the latest 2026 core drivers through their paces to determine the standout performer. Watch on to see which driver is the best buy.

We first identify how each driver feels and looks off the tee, delving deeper into the stability and adjustability for your game. With huge amounts of noise online, we’re here to clearly break down each aspect of the drivers and which might suit your swing best.

We then turn to the Trackman data and search for further insights with ball speed, launch angle and dispersion patterns. Overall we compare against the reliable Titleist GT2 benchmark to find the overall winner.

The drivers tested in this video:
– Titleist GT2 (Benchmark)
– Ping G440 Max
– Callaway Quantum Max
– Cobra OPTM X
– TaylorMade Qi4D Core

  1. Great video, no Mizuno though? Based on this came down to the QI4D or the GT2. Impressive for the GT2 to still be right up there after being in the market for almost 2 years against the new products. Looking forward to this years Titleist in a few months to see what they have come up with for 2026.

  2. I will watch all of these knowing full well I don’t “need” a new driver, and that they’re so close I’ll go with the same brand for bag appeal… but I love well informed data! 😂 Well done, mate!

  3. I’ve recently got a Qi4D paired with a Graphite Design Tour AD-FI…loving the combo so far, really playable, plenty forgiving and long

  4. You could factor in price too. GT2 is $200 off right now and for the difference in performance it could easily be the winner. Also the Cobra is cheaper than the TM, numbers were just as good and is the most adjustable in the lot. That would probably be my overall pick with that front to back dispersion and ability to really dial it in. Thanks for the content

  5. Wow, new sub here and thought for sure you seemed anti TaylorMade lol. I was shocked at 2nd Swings video comparing the 35 to the 4D. The 4 D in their video was same results as you, insane results for shot differential. Tight shot groupings. I think it’s a great head and option for mid cappers like me.

  6. Great review this
I got fit a few weeks ago
Went in thinking I would come away with the TM. I found with it the face looked really small behind the ball and was getting inconsistent distances front to back with Same strikes. Didn’t like the ping. The cobra I loved and really surprised me but I came away with the callaway. For someone who adds loft and can get a bit spinny the numbers were so good for me. 2400 average spin. Swinging at 94mph got 7 mph ball speed than my AI smoke and looked very similar behind the ball. Came today also so can’t wait to use it
The one big take away is we must get fitted

  7. Crazy looked at your 2025 core driver video and ball speeds are all down this year 3-5mph.

  8. I think they have come back and made a good driver after the Qi35 debacle, I tested the Qi4D and it's a cracking driver and if I can hit it anyone can.

  9. Long story short! I purchased TSR3 that I loved. I persuaded myself, following reviews that GT3 would be even better and so PX for GT3. Then got a good deal on another TSR3 which bought as a back up. Traded in GT3 and love the TSR3. Older drivers often just as good. Also now playing TM RbZ tour five wood which is an awesome club and only 14 years old. A very good review of this club against modern on 2nd Swing YT video!

  10. I play a fade. I was fit into the Qi4D. It was close against the GT2 could have gone either way. I found the GT2 to start on my line then draw. Very tight dispersion. I liked the Qi4D tended to land more on my line. Slightly bigger dispersion but it would fade when I wanted it to and the draws started right but finished on my line

  11. I struggle with high dynamic loft😢 clubheadspeed 105-110 mph range, not sure which one to get, i loose alot of distance because i launch it to high, dispersion is good tho.

  12. I haven't tested the taylormade qi4d , but going by past fittings, taylormade does not sit well. Never can get a good strike with them. Love callaway, titleist and ping . Playing a Ping g430 atm but will definitely be trying some of those heads out soon.

  13. Titleist GT2 beats all the others in this test. A replacement will be coming relatively soon, but they have dropped the price to $449 from $650. TM, Ping, Callaway are all $650. If I was buying now, the choice is clear.

  14. Had an excellent fit by Simon when my swing direction was far too in to out so consequently a low spin head wasn’t optimal for keeping a draw in the air.

Had some lessons since and now working towards a very low tee, and therefore level AOA, fade as distance isn’t an issue.

High tee is arguably the worst invention in golf for a high speed player in my opinion as the swing direction and path diverge as a function of angle of attack times 1/(tan of the swing plane), I’m only 5’9 so swing flat anyway. Given that tan(x) increases with swing plane between 0 and 90, the flatter you are, the more AOA influences that divergence. So AOA being too far up creates more of a divergence between swing direction and path. Making strike harder to coordinate. High tee also allows you to get away with side bending to the right which gets most people stuck…

Started spinning the low tee cut too much with the driver I was fit for when I was drawing it. As Scott Fawcett rightly points out when he argues about hitting one shape only with driver: they’re often fit/built to optimise for a draw or fade spin, not both.

So now have a Quantum TD in the 8 degree head in the exact same shaft as before and it’s perfect because I can hit that pull cut off a low tee and it doesn’t spin up on me anymore.

  15. He really messed up on the Callaway test, the face angles were A LOT worse than the others which is why it had lower ball speed, lower smash factor and lower distance.

  16. As a crappy golfer I care way more about hitting straight than I do hitting long. Looking forward to summer to get a fitting.
