The hooks haunt me.
oh yeah
I experienced this feeling like I was going to hit behind the ball last summer by accident when I was trying to keep my hands low through the hitting area. It promoted me to turn my hips to avoid hitting behind the ball. So this is good to know. Thanks.
Any vids on how yall prefer shot shapping?
What needs to happen when hitting a fade and how?
This video was made for my game 😂 thanks for another good one!
I had a question regarding some other YouTube golf advice regarding the elbows. I was wondering if there was any value in looking at the space between the elbows at address versus top of the backswing, versus impact, versus after impact into the release.
I ran into a few videos where the emphasis is on "squeezing" the elbows together at the top of the backswing, usually with some link to the teaching aid or some contraption.
I imagine that there is some truth to trying to keep the elbows close together to avoid the chicken wing in the release or setting the club too upright at the top of the backswing, but is there value on focusing on the distance between the elbows at all or is it more of a function of doing other things right in the swing and the elbows will take care of themselves? Thanks again!
As a golfer who has less than a year under my belt, I’m so happy I found AMG. I’ve been watching all your videos for the past weeks. Question would be, what part of my swing should I focus on first?
Is this drill supposed to keep you in ulnar deviation with the wrists for longer?
I’ve had this swing feel before but I had never known how to describe it. Whenever I was swinging my best, I always looked taller through the shot but the thought of taller through impact never quite resonated in the way the fishing analogy does. Excellent job boys!
Quackers, snap hooks, "Fooor!!!",
The dreaded pull hook into the trees, left to left into someones backyard, etc, etc,, LOL!
Hard to respect anyone who doesn’t care enough to steal a great drill. I mean, if you aren’t a drill thief, do you even really coach golf? 🤷🏼♂️😂
I held 6 course records, shot 59 in competition……………….the hook was devastating and ended my playing career. UGH, still haunts me to this day.
When I was at the bunker in Cartersville with you Mike, (Abu Dhabi, B-Ball), you gave me a feel that lets me get to my left side landing and a high finish. It was, seeing my chest at 12:00, downswing starting towards 4:00 and body drifting towards 10:00. It clears my hips, puts my shaft on plane and gives me movement towards the target. The high finish just happens as a result.
I'm guessing you guys may do another video on good and bad ways to come up, and the timing it would happen during?
Guys Thanks for this drill! Shaun, I bought the band to do the two stretches in previous posts….but couldn’t find them…can you please tell me how to find them. Thanks
What do you do if you get too up and hit thins/pull up out of it?
Thanks for the video. Ive got a shape that starts centre then move left.
My coach recommended not to lose my left side because Im an upper body spinner.
I assume a component of success for upper body extension in follow through is to ensure pressure on the left side?
Mike , is that a thought Shaun plays with most of the time..Feel like throwing the clubhead by the back foot, but the proper body motion lines it up with great impact conditions? He mentioned " that's the best way to play' thx
I can't ever remember slicing the ball but unfortunately I can't ever forget hooking the ball. I would try to swing more left to cut it but I couldn't release the club for fear of going even more left. I really felt like I had some success today with keeping the chest higher than the club through the release and hit some very nice little cuts. Still hit a few left but I felt like I could release the club more through the ball with my chest pointed higher and the club lower. What was the video you referred to when. you mentioned the big delta? Thanks for the help guys!
Watching this, out of interest. With driver, I hit a pretty predictable fade. However, with irons, I always need to protect from hitting a pull….and hopefully always keep it as a draw.
Very good video, guys! So nice to confirm what good technique is.
I need help so badly. I'm playing off of a +2 but took a few months off and I can't get off the tee box currently the snap hook is so bad. I think it's probably from the speed training I've been doing with the Stack or something. HELP!!! I can't quit this game my channel is just starting to pick up lol.
how bout y'all start linking your "we did a video about that?" Would be really helpful
Worked on this on the range yesterday, starting as a drill with no expectations, but…. Two comments: 1. Didn't really hit any good shots until I started re-hinging in the follow through, but this drill seemed to delay the re-hinging. True? 2. You guys always talk about how the swing is a mirror image (trail / lead). So I played around with doing the drill on the trail side…the feeling was that it was delaying the hinging on the backswing, swing felt wider. Didn't really work on tucking the pelvis on the back swing, but wanted to ask if these should be "mirror feels?"
Baseball swing towards ball with a hockey finish swing thought 🏌🏿♂️
I can’t stop hitting it left. I would love to back to fade with every shot. I hate hitting it left
All I hit is hooks these days. I recorded my swing down the line and I noticed my club face is open. I try sometimes to do everything I can to hit a slice, and the best I can do is a straight pull left. Why can’t I get it to go right even when my face is open coming down. I even hook irons 🤷🏻♂️. Help!
