GRAND ISLAND, Neb — As warmer temperatures bring early signs of spring, crews at Jackrabbit Run Golf Course are already preparing for the 2026 golf season, with opening day about a month away.

The offseason is a critical period for the course, with grounds staff spending the winter maintaining equipment and monitoring course conditions to set up the greens, fairways and tee boxes for a strong start once play resumes. On warmer days, the course is also beginning to welcome golfers back in limited ways by opening the driving range periodically.

“Even when the course isn’t fully open, there’s a tremendous amount of work happening to get everything ready,” Jackrabbit Run General Manager SaDonna Manfull said. “Warmer days allow us to open the driving range and start reconnecting with our golfers, while our team continues preparing the course for the season ahead.”

On days when temperatures climb over 45 degrees, the driving range will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. With highs expected in the 60s over the next six days, Jackrabbit Run will also open the range for Valentine’s Day weekend and Presidents Day on Monday, Feb. 16.

Driving range hours are:

Saturday, Feb. 14: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sunday, Feb. 15: noon to 5 p.m.

Monday, Feb. 16: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The course will offer 10% off 2026 season passes starting Friday, Feb. 13, running through Monday, Feb. 16. Season passes will be available online at www.jackrabbitrungolf.com and in person at the pro shop.

Staff are also planning a full 2026 calendar that will include leagues, tournaments, community events and programming for players of all skill levels. Golfers are encouraged to watch for course updates, driving range availability and upcoming event announcements as the facility transitions from offseason preparation to the new season.
