So, this is insane!
It’s been a pretty cool few weeks for the top women’s golf program in the country. Earlier this month, they scored another team trip down to the Augusta National Women’s Amateur and now this epic win at the Arizona Thunderbird Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of Arizona.
En route to their victory, Stanford was the only team shoot under par in any round, beating No. 21 Baylor by 35 strokes, which ties the program’s record for largest margin of victory in a tournament. The record was set at the 2022 Gunrock Invitational.
This marks the team’s third stroke-play win this season and the third different individual winner in its lineup this year. But it wasn’t highly-decordated senior Megha Ganne leading the Cardinal this time around, but sophomore Andrea Revuelta, who shot 66-69-70 to go 11-under par for the tournament to capture her third career individual win.
This was pure an utter dominance by Stanford, who continues to elevate in every way. I’ve said it before, and I’ll keep on saying it, this team and the success under head coach Anne Walker is on par with iconic collegiate programs like Nick Saban’s Alabama football and Coach K at Duke.
