I remember watching the first Lewis vs. Rahman fight, Lewis messed up his prep and failed to train at altitude, then compounded the error by turning up too late to get acclimatised to the altitude of ~1,600m, which is roughly the same as Denver (mile-high city), and not something to be sniffed at when it comes to athletic performance. This came after filming a cameo in one of the "Ocean's" film series. After a few rounds he was struggling, and breathing with his mouth wide open.
It always surprises me when professional fighters cut corners like that, or come in heavy and in bad condition. Lewis didn't take Rahman or the conditions seriously, and in the heavyweight division that's a dangerous game. Even elite fighters are human — they get complacent and a bit cocky, then get brought back to earth with a bump.
