The final grading and restoration remain to be completed as part of the Green Ridge Golf Course project in Wickliffe.
According to City Engineer Pete Formica, he received an email from the dredging contractor, who noted they are ready to move forward to finish the project. He said he has previously left messages and said he plans to begin pursuing a different contractor to complete the work should the dredging contractor not return.
“If they do not come back soon, we will hire someone to complete the job,” Formica said.
The golf course pond, which was dredged to improve water supply for the irrigation system, has since been refilled.
“It needs re-grading around the edges,” Formica said, noting that the mound needs to be moved a bit.
Wickliffe Service Director Dave Krofcheck said as part of addressing the golf course’s irrigation, that in addition to the dredging approximately four sprinkler heads were installed per green, and approximately two per tee box.
“A pump will be needed in the future,” Krofcheck said.
The water from the pond will be used for the irrigation of the entire course, Krofcheck said, adding that a new suction system that uses the water from the surface of the pond has been added, which should work out well.
“It has been winterized and will be restarted in the spring,” he said.
The project was authorized in 2023. The estimated project cost is $185,000 with a contract amount of $123,875 with Holcomb Enterprises, LLC. Restoration work began last March.
