NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – The Houston Christian University women’s golf team returns to competition Feb. 2–3 at the Texas State Invitational, marking its first official tournament of the spring portion of the 2025–26 season. The event will be held at Landa Park Golf Course in New Braunfels, Texas.

The 54-hole tournament will be contested on the par-72, 5,803-yard layout, with the opening two rounds scheduled for Monday followed by the final round on Tuesday. Play will begin both days with an 8:15 a.m. CT shotgun start, with live scoring available via Scoreboard on Clippd.

The Texas State Invitational follows HCU’s Jan. 19 HCU–UNT Winter Warmup at the Golf Club of Houston, which served as the team’s spring tune-up before entering full-field competition.

HCU enters the spring building off a strong fall season highlighted by multiple top-five team finishes and consistent individual performances throughout the lineup. The Huskies recorded a fourth-place finish at The Lady Clerico and placed second at the Red Raider Invitational, while also posting their lowest team score of the semester at the Golf Iconic Classic.

Individually, Natcha Makmanee led the Huskies during the fall with a 71.22 stroke average, highlighted by a third-place finish at the Golf Iconic Classic after carding a seven-under 209. Alyssa Stewart also produced a solid semester, averaging 74.3 strokes per round and opening the year with a top-10 finish at The Lady Clerico. Hailey Hendershott delivered the lowest round by any Husky this season with a six-under 66 at the Golf Iconic Classic.

HCU’s lineup for the Texas State Invitational will include Alyssa Stewart, Natcha Makmanee, Alejandra Ferrer, Sara Pihlajamäki, and Hailey Hendershott. Competing as individuals will be Abigail O’Brien, Serena Churchill, and Abigail Inocian.

The Huskies will face a competitive field that includes No. 57 Texas State, No. 15 St. Mary’s (TX) (DII), No. 24 West Texas A&M (DII), Creighton, Loyola Chicago, Texas A&M–Corpus Christi, Tarleton State, Lamar, UT Rio Grande Valley, UIW, Stephen F. Austin, Prairie View A&M, East Texas A&M, the University of Texas at Dallas (DII), and Houston Christian.

Following the Texas State Invitational, HCU will continue spring play at the Islanders Classic on Feb. 16–17 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
