You no longer need to travel to the West Coast in winter to play golf.

Megalodome Golf is developing a nine-hole indoor golf facility within a series of interconnected, climate-controlled domes, conveniently located just a short drive from Chicago.

The course will feature a combination of par 3s and short par 4s, all built on artificial turf, allowing for year-round play.

According to Fox 32 Chicago, the planned site will consist of four large domes covering a nine-hole executive course, along with a driving range designed to replicate the look and feel of Scottsdale, Arizona.

Rounds are expected to progress faster than on traditional courses, with a nine-hole round estimated to take about 90 minutes. This means a full 18 holes could potentially be completed in roughly three hours.

The facility will operate daily from 6 a.m. to midnight, year-round.
