Brooks Koepka’s PGA Tour return has, in his words, been “beyond what I could’ve dreamed of.”
Following his decision to ditch LIV Golf to rejoin the PGA Tour, Koepka made his return this weekend at Torrey Pines, competing at the Farmers Insurance Open. The 35-year-old made the cut after two rounds, with Koepka currently sitting tied 61st ahead of Sunday’s action.
Koepka’s move from the PGA Tour to LIV was just one of many made by some of golf’s biggest names. But with Koepka now back on the PGA Tour, he has admitted his return has surpassed his expectations. Speaking on CBS to broadcaster Jim Nantz, Koepka shared that, while he had some nerves playing on the PGA Tour again, he loved every second, adding that it had helped him fall back in love with golf.

“It’s been phenomenal,” Koepka told Jim Nantz. “It’s been overwhelming, it’s been very cool. I don’t know what I expected but this is beyond what I could have dreamed of.”
“Everybody that I’ve talked to seemed excited and just said welcome back, and that’s all I really need to say, I think. I’m excited to see it and keep having those conversations, I haven’t had any negative ones yet but I’m sure they might come.

“Were you nervous? On third?” asked Nantz, to which Koepka replied: “Oh yeah, oh yeah.”
“It was a little weird, but then you know, once you get a few holes in, you get into that comfort zone and everything starts to feel a little bit normal again which is exciting.

“When we spoke last week, you said you felt like a kid again, getting this chance to come back to this tour, did it feel like that to you? Once you got here?
“Yeah, it does, it really does,” added Koepka. “I think I said last week, I’ve kind of fallen back in love with the game, I’m excited.”
Koepka isn’t the only big name to have swapped LIV Golf for a PGA Tour return, with Patrick Reed also following the former in making the switch.

“After careful thought and consideration, my family and I have decided that I will no longer compete on the LIV Golf Tour,” Reed wrote on social media when announcing his decision.
“I am excited to announce that I am returning to the PGA Tour as a past champion member for the 2027 season and am eligible to begin competing in PGA Tour events later this year.”
