The DP World Tour continued its Middle Eastern swing with the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship at Royal Golf Club, Bahrain, held from 29 January to 1 February.
The third event on the International Swing featured a prize fund of USD $2,750,000, with the winner taking home more than $450,000.
Multiple Major winner Pádraig Harrington headlined the field and was joined by Masters champion Sergio Garcia. The championship also featured a strong Olympic presence, with Harrington, Garcia, Matteo Manassero, Guido Migliozzi, Thomas Detry, Ashun Wu, Bernd Wiesberger, Rafa Cabrera Bello and Antoine Rozner all having represented their nations at the Olympic Games.
Former Bahrain champion Dylan Frittelli returned to the Kingdom, while the field was further strengthened by a strong contingent of multiple DP World Tour winners. This included Rolex Series winners Paul Waring, Cabrera Bello and Wiesberger, alongside Thriston Lawrence, Pablo Larrazábal and Ewen Ferguson. The line-up was completed by current Race to Dubai leader Jayden Schaper and 2025 Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Martin Couvra.
Three Bahraini amateurs also competed on home soil. Ahmed Alzayed, winner of Best Bahraini at the King Hamad Trophy, Khalifa Almaraisi, the top-ranked Bahrain Golf Association player for 2025, and Ali Mohamed Alkowari, who secured his place by winning the National Team Qualifying tournament, all teed it up at Royal Golf Club.
Freddy Schott won his first DP World Tour title after beating Calum Hill and Patrick Reed in a play-off at the 2026 Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship.
