0 Handicap vs a Breezy Heathland Test

Ever wondered what a real 0-handicap YouTube golfers’ round actually looks like — where calm overlaps with a self-deprecating and fun vibe?

This is 18 holes of quality golf with a scratch handicap, played at a course with some genuinely special views, filmed exactly as it happened.

No tidy edits. No manufactured moments. Just proper golf in a pretty spectacular setting.
Every swing. Every decision. No edits. No ego (I promise).

I wanted to share this because scratch golf often gets painted as effortless and clinical.
It isn’t.
It’s thoughtful. It’s demanding. It’s trying to play good golf while standing somewhere that occasionally makes you forget what hole you’re on.
And honestly? It’s far more relaxed, human, and enjoyable than most people expect.

In this round you’ll see:
• What 18 holes of scratch golf actually looks like in real time
• How I approach a course that rewards good decisions (and punishes lazy ones)
• The shots I committed to — and the ones that needed a quick rethink
• A few mental resets as the standard quietly creeps up
• Some facts, stories, and personal insights about me, my background in golf, which then overlap with how I ended up playing this way

If you enjoy great courses, strong golf, big views, and a bit of personality alongside the shots with your YouTube Golf fix… this one’s for you.

  1. Thanks for watching 👊
This one’s a mix of great golf, better views, and me oversharing a bit about me… any surprises in there?

  2. Fingers crossed you get 10k Jonny you deserve it the work that you put in really warrants it. Great golf as per usual and what a fab course the views are brill. One to remember for sure. Top notch content from Jonny yet again!! 👍

  3. I was listening so attentively to you that I hadn’t realised what was happening until the final putt dropped. Great playing 👏

I also didn’t know you worked in data analytics (although it would be weird if I did). I’ve been training and completing courses in order to pursue a career in that field. I’m still figuring out what sector I’d want to work in.

  4. Great video as always Jonny, putting to one side what you think is the best, which is your most favourite course in Yorkshire? Mine is Wetherby because it has 6 par 5’s 😀⛳️

  5. New viewer, new subscriber. Love the ‘just golf’ approach. No silly frills etc. Good informative commentary. Love it! 👍🏼

  6. Another collab with Luke would be great 👍🏼 Such a lovely guy. Playing ‘Finchy’ would be fantastic. Best YT golfer for me 👍🏼

  7. Cyfarchion o Gaerdydd!
Married for two years? That's awesome! I'm curious to know what being married is like. My wedding is in a few months, as soon as my fiancé finishes his commercial pilot training. We're getting married down in Guadeloupe. I keep thinking about what it will be like to leave Cardiff and live out in the Caribbean. It's a little scary, isn't it? Even though my in-laws and my fiancé are just the best!
A beautifully played round of golf. It's really fun and very entertaining to watch you play.
Rwy'n edrych ymlaen at eich rownd nesaf o golff.🙂

  8. Hi Jonny,

Loved the video as always. As soon as I see you’ve posted a vid, I look forward to getting home making a brew and giving it a watch. I’m out for a month, done a muscle in my rib. I’m absolutely gutted as I’m a new starter. Was good to hear abit about yourself too. Would love to see you go head to head with Rick shiels, reckon you would beat him. Cheers Joe

  9. If you ever fancy doing a NE Scotland trip, I could potentially help with accommodation etc.
Some fantastic courses around Cullen, Elgin, Nairn and so on. Would make for some great content.

  10. It's always very impressive to see how you play and how you deal with different types of golf courses and their individual characteristics, including difficult weather conditions. I would very much like to see you play the North Course at Quinta do Lago, from the championship tees (black), of course.💪💣 Maybe you'll be visiting Portugal one day…😉

    Salutations des Antilles françaises… 🙂

  11. Hi jonny great video pal love your chilled approach to golf. You said in your video that you'd like to know more courses with amazing views. Kendal is unbeatable, we have amazing views of the mountains and dales, with some very interesting holes. Be more than welcome to show you around and would certainly be nice to have a fellow yorkshire man in Cumbria. Keep up the good work

  12. thx for the vid ….. lovely course . They say that God did practice with Lancashire before he made 'Gods Country ' 🤣❤

  13. Have to say Jonny, coming across your page last year, has been a joy. 🎉 underrated page, hope to see some collabs throughout 26. Would be good to have recap of your golfing journey, handicap through the years etc. if you’re ever in the midlands, we may cross paths one day 😂

  14. Welcome to come to Chorley Jonny but I’d leave it till summer as it gets wet in winter (as do most parkland courses in the NW!)

  15. Great video 👍. I like Burnley a lot, it's a fun, perpetually windy, challenging course. Local knowledge is definitely needed (although you seemed to do alright without it 🫡). You definitely should try and get back in the summer though, it plays very different from the back tees and when it's firm and bouncy.

  16. I started watching your channel last year and I have watched every video since. By far my favourite golf channel on YouTube! Keep up the awesome work. Love the story times every few holes 👏🏻🤩
