GUADALAJARA, Mexico – The No. 28 ranked Seminole women’s golf team captured the team title at the Collegiate Invitational at Guadalajara Country Club, marking Florida State’s third consecutive win at the event. After beginning the final day in second place, the Seminoles posted a strong final round to move into first and secure the victory.

Sophomore Sophia Fullbrook led Florida State throughout the tournament, carding rounds of 72, 70, and 72 to finish tied for sixth in the individual standings.

“It’s always great to start the year with a win,” said head coach Amy Bond. “After our start yesterday, I though the girls showed a lot of heart and stuck to their process.  They came into today knowing they had to chase down the leaders and they were able to do that by hitting one shot at a time.”

Florida State played its best round of the event with a 4 under par score of 284 in the final round. The Seminoles began the final round trailing Oklahoma State by two strokes and played their third round five strokes better than the Cowgirls to earn the three shot victory. Florida State’s round of 4 under par 284 was one of three under par team rounds during the tournament.

The Seminoles carded 17 birdies in the final round including five by Elin Pudas Remler, four by Fullbrook, four by Alexandra Gazzoli, three by Layla Pedrique, and one by Haruhi Nakatani.

In finishing in a tie for sixth place in the individual standings with scores of 72-70-72 and a three round total of 2 under par 214, Fullbrook tied her career best for an individual finish. She also finished in a tie for sixth place at the Folds of Honor Collegiate in the Fall of 2024.

Pudas Remler finished in a tie for 10th place with scores of 70-77-69 for a three round total of even par 216. She earned the third career top-10 finish of her career and her first as a Seminole.

The Seminoles play their second event of the spring season at the Moon Invitational at the Suntree Country Club in Melbourne, Fla., March 15-17.
