LOS ANGELES — The No. 2 USC women’s golf team stays in the Los Angeles area for the Therese Hession Regional Challenge, hosted by Ohio State at the Palos Verdes Golf Club in Palos Verdes Estates, Calif. from Feb. 1-3.

Competing in a highly competitive field, the Trojans will square off against eight top-25 teams and four top-10 teams:  No. 3 Oregon, No. 6 Florida, No. 7 Texas A&M and No. 9 Pepperdine.

The Trojans are coming off winning the Battle of LA 3.5-1.5 over No. 21 UCLA last week. The win was USC’s third consecutive match play win over the Bruins.

COMPETITIVE SLATE: No. 2 USC, No. 3 Oregon, No. 6 Florida, No. 7 Texas A&M, No. 9 Pepperdine, No. 11 Texas, No. 13 Arizona State, No. 18 South Carolina, No. 23 UCLA, No. 31 SMU, No. 49 Ohio State, California, Miami, San Jose State and UNLV.

WHERE: The par-71, 6,017-yard course at Palos Verdes Golf Club, located in Palos Verdes, Calif.

WHEN: The Trojans will play one round per day from Sunday, Feb. 1 through Tuesday, Feb. 2.

Catherine Park

The lone senior on the USC roster begins her final campaign this spring. A three-time All-American, Park has won four tournaments in her career, which is tied for the third-most in program history. Her best results was tying for second at the Stanford Intercollegiate and her 70.63 stroke average is third on the team this season. 

Kylie Chong

Kylie Chong begins her spring season after putting together several results this past winter. Chong was the runner-up at the Patriot All-American Tournament and tied for fourth at the Australian Master of the Amateurs. During the fall season, Chong tied for first with Jasmine Koo to help the Trojans win the Golfweek Red Sky Classic.

Elise Lee

Playing in her first spring season as a Trojan, Elise Lee comes into this tournament after putting together a successful fall campaign. Lee led the team with three top-10 finishes, with her best being a fourth-place finish at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate back in September. An Irvine, Calif. Native, Lee returned home to Southern California last summer after helping Northwestern win a national title.

Jasmine Koo

The highest-ranked USC player in the Scoreboard rankings, Koo is coming off a successful fall campaign where she tied for first at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic with her teammate, Kylie Chong. Lee’s stroke average of 70.11 leads the team.

Bailey Shoemaker

Bailey Shoemaker will be making her season stroke-play debut this week. The junior had three top-10 finishes last season — including a seventh-place finish to lead the Trojans at the NCAA Lexington Regional.

Chloe Kim

Freshman Chloe Kim will be making her Trojan debut at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge. The Whittier, Calif. native has one win and three top-10 finishes in the junior circuit and she helped Fairmont Preparatory Academy win the CIF Southern Section Championship in 2024. This past winter, Kim won the Cactus Collegiate Challenge at the Junior National Golf Course. Kim is one of five Southern California standouts on USC’s roster.
