MALIBU, Calif. — No. 9 Pepperdine women’s golf will open its spring season Feb. 1-3 at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge from Palos Verdes Golf Club in Palos Verdes, Calif.
The tournament hosted by Ohio State sees 16 of the nation’s elite competing across three days for 54 holes of stroke play. Seven of the top-13 programs in the Scoreboard team rankings help comprise the field.

The Waves will play alongside Florida, UCLA and UNLV for the first two rounds. The groups will tee off of hole one on Sunday’s opening round at 9 a.m. and off tee 10 on Monday at 10:12 a.m.
Pepperdine placed ninth in the tournament this past spring, as Anderson paced the returners with a 71-76-73 to finish 41st at 7-over.
Pepperdine’s appearance in the tournament marks its 23rd time since the spring of 2020. The Waves have won the tournament on three occasions (2003, 2005, 2007) while seeing three individual champions, the most recent being Lisa McCloskey in 2010.
The Waves were recently selected at No. 1 in the West Coast Conference Preseason Poll, with Kylee Choi, Eunseo Choi, Jeneath Wong and Grace Anderson each receiving All-WCC Preseason Team laurels. The quartet each ranks within the top-110 individually in the Scoreboard rankings.
Pepperdine bolted up the Scoreboard team rankings into the top-10 following a successful fall season, which saw the Waves finish second at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic and fourth at the Stanford Intercollegiate.
The Waves will look to reach a 27th consecutive NCAA Regional, as head coach Laurie Gibbs is in her 33rd season at the helm.
Pepperdine will next be in action as co-hosts to the Bruin Wave Invitational from Feb. 23-24 in Valencia, Calif.
