ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WBAY) – A local girl has the opportunity to compete in the national finals at one of the most acclaimed golf clubs, Augusta National.

A total of 80 finalists aged 7 to 15 will play in the 2026 Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals. That includes Suamico’s own Hallie Fisch.

12-year-old Hallie Fisch found her passion for golf when she began swinging the club at age 4.

“I just really loved it. I just loved going and playing. And it was just really fun. And I just fell in love with the game,” Hallie Fisch said.

In September 2025 at Whistling Straits Golf Course, Hallie won her ticket to the national stage.

“We were just watching the scoreboard and when we realized that she actually won, it was just like ‘oh my gosh we’re going to Augusta’ and it was cool. It was a really cool experience. She was excited, cried a little bit, there were some tears and stuff like that, but it was a really neat experience for all of us,” Jason Fisch, Hallie’s father, said.

“It was crazy. I didn’t believe it at first. There were so many good girls and I’m the one that gets to go, I was so excited,” Hallie said.

She will be competing in the girls 12-13 age group at one of the most famous courses in the world.

“I mean it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to go to Augusta National so I’m very excited,” Hallie said.

“I’m super proud. She is such a hard worker. And she’s such a good kid and she has a good personality. I’m just excited to see her do something that she really loves and to flourish and to have positive experiences with it,” Jason Fisch said.

Besides trying to win it all, Hallie tells Action 2 News’ Taylor Ziebell what else she’s hoping to get out of the experience.

“Just enjoy being there. And just driving down Magnolia Lane. And just being able to see the course for the first time,” Hallie said.

You can watch Hallie compete in the Drive, Chip and Putt on the Golf Channel on April 5.
