The US Department of Justice warned that the Epstein files contained “unfounded and false” claims about President Trump as it released three million new pages of documents.

The president is mentioned more than 3,000 times in the latest batch of documents. Trump administration officials said “untrue and sensationalist” claims about the president submitted just before the 2020 election were included in the 3.5 million pages published online.

“To be clear, the claims are unfounded and false, and if they have a shred of credibility, they certainly would have been weaponised against President Trump already,” the Department of Justice (DoJ) said.

Some of the mentions of Trump are clippings from newspaper articles or references to the president in emails. There is also a list compiled by the DoJ of accusations made against him by women. None have ever been substantiated.

One witness recounts how their female friend alleged she was forced to perform oral sex on Trump at about the age of 13 or 14 in New Jersey.

Another complainant deemed “not credible” by investigators alleged that the Trump golf course in Rancho Palos Verdes in California was at the centre of a sex-trafficking ring between 1995 and 1996.

Investigators appeared sceptical of some of the most lurid allegations made against Trump. “Some of these individuals are reporting second-hand information,” one of the officers noted.

• What is in the Epstein files? The key revelations so far

A much lengthier allegation from a woman known as “Jane Doe” was given to the FBI via her lawyer on July 4, 2016, alleging that Epstein and Trump raped her when she was 13 years old. The accusations appear to mirror a lawsuit taken against Trump in June 2016 from a woman named as “Jane Doe”, which was voluntarily dismissed.

In the Epstein files document, the woman’s lawyer describes how the woman was allegedly enticed to New York City in the summer of 1994 on the pretence of kickstarting her modelling career but was sexually abused by Trump and Epstein at a number of parties.

“During the first party, Doe was asked to strip down to her underwear and give a massage to Epstein,” the account says. “Doe was asked by Epstein to do sexual acts, but she refused. Doe was later asked to massage the penis of Epstein’s guest, Trump, with her hands. Doe was told that this was what she had to do in order to get a job and Doe complied.

“During the second party, Doe was asked to perform oral sex on Trump and complied. During the third party, Doe was made to perform oral sex on Trump with another young girl named [redacted]. During the fourth visit, Doe was raped by Trump …

“Epstein was angry that Trump was the one to take Doe’s virginity and then went on to rape Doe … Doe struggled and was struck by both men during the assault. Doe was then threatened with violence by both men to not make any report of what happened: ‘We’ll make you disappear like [redacted].’”

The account appears similar to the lawsuit taken against Trump in June 2016. A few months later, the accuser abruptly cancelled a press conference in Los Angeles where she was due to go public. The case was withdrawn in November 2016, weeks before the election.

Trump has always denied the allegations.

In a separate document from the latest release, a masseuse who claims to have worked for Jeffrey Epstein in 1999 when she was 25 years old claimed she had met Trump.

The anonymous woman submitted a statement to a private investigations team in 2021 that was sent to Ghislaine Maxwell’s defence team. The woman said she wanted to remain anonymous to protect her children.

Describing Epstein, she said: “I never saw him like a creepy guy. He had so many women after him at that time. He was the bachelor everyone wanted, very charming.”

She added: “I saw Prince Andrew and Donald Trump. He wanted me to give Prince Andrew a massage, but I didn’t feel good about that.” Her account does not contain accusations of wrongdoing by President Trump or Prince Andrew.
