Move over flagsticks – there’s a new target on the range, and it’s all in the name of YouTube supremacy.

In a move that’s equal parts genius and genuinely Aussie, LIV Golf’s all-Australian powerhouse Ripper GC has launched the wildest YouTube follower campaign of the season – and it involves marshmallows, high stakes, and one very nervous social media guru.

The challenge? For every new YouTube follower Ripper GC picks up, the team lines up one marshmallow – not for roasting, mind you – but to smack straight at their social media manager, Chase Lyons. Yep. You follow ’em, he takes the fluff straight to the body from point-blank range.

This real kicker? If they don’t hit their ambitious target of 200,000 followers by season’s end, Lyons can start looking for a new job. Ouch!

“Please follow. This is amazing,” says skipper Cam Smith.

It IS amazing. It’s the kind of stunt you’d only expect from Australia’s most mischievous golf crew – part camaraderie, part friendly hazing, and 100 percent calculated to blow up their follower count.

Lyons, bless him, is as good-humoured as they come, sheepishly agreeing to be the marshmallow martyr if the Instagram numbers go boom.

While Smith and his LIV mates have been making headlines on and off the course course the off-season, this campaign proves they’re not too worried about any outside noise.

It’s cheeky. It’s childish. It’s perfect Internet content. And honestly, if it gets Chase plastered with sugary projectile applause… we’re all here for it.
