Hi Sunshine News Readers,
We hope everybody is well!
I’m writing this ahead of our ‘Crazy Golf Day’ event which made its debut at Junkyard Golf Club yesterday. We’ll share how it went in next week’s column, but at the time of writing, everything is prepped and ready to go and it’s set to be a great day and night!
This event is a twist on a traditional charity golf day, making it more appealing to a wider audience, and not being reliant on the weather (which is lucky given the rain and wind we’ve had this week!).
We teamed up with Junkyard Golf to deliver this event which saw three sessions held throughout the day. The morning session was open to individuals as a networking event, while the two afternoon slots welcomed teams from local businesses.
The event welcomed some healthy competition and six awards were up for grabs for the best and worst players, best team name etc.

These trophies were handed out at the after-putt party, named ‘The 19th Hole’. This took place in the Sports Zone in the newly opened Coyotes Newcastle (formerly Bar 52) where guests could enjoy an after-work social, drinks offers and live music.
We look forward to talking more about our Crazy Golf Day next week, and hopefully it’s the first of many!
Last week we announced two very special partnerships surrounding our Great North Run campaign. We’re delighted to say that we have officially sold out of our Junior & Mini spaces, after adding extra places last week.

We still have limited charity spaces available for the main Great North Run on Sunday, September 13, but they’re selling quick! If you’d like to run for a small North East charity and make a real difference to the lives of children living with disabilities and terminal illness in our region, please register now at www.thesunshinefund.org/gnr.
Thank you for reading!
