INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – On Thursday, the Horizon League announced the 2026 Under Armour #HLGOLF Preseason Poll, with Oakland men’s golf earning the second-place ranking.
The men’s golf team participated in five tournaments during the fall season, recording top finishes. They placed second at the Tom Tontimonia Invitational and third at the Purdue Fall Invitational. With this success, the team aims to perform better in league play, where they finished fifth out of ten teams at the Horizon League Championship last season.
In the spring, the team welcomed freshman Rakshit Dahiya, who has already made a significant impact with his two top-15 finishes. He joins the seven returning players, including seniors Luke Kelly and Ellis Kinnaird, juniors Robert Burns, Matteo Rocco, Ben Willis, and Jack Zubkus, and sophomore Brennan Sullivan.
In the preseason poll, the men’s team secured three of the ten first-place votes, totaling 87 points, placing only behind last year’s Horizon League Champion, Wright State.
The spring season swings into gear starting in February, as the men’s team will travel to Huntsville, Texas, on the 9th to compete in the Bentwater Intercollegiate
