It’s a big week for the PGA Tour as it’s back at Torrey Pines Golf Course for the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open and five-time major winner Brooks Koepka makes his return after a three-year stint with LIV Golf. Combined with Patrick Reed’s announcement that he’s also leaving the Saudi-backed golf tour and seeking reinstatement to the PGA Tour, this could be a turning point in the ongoing golf turf war between the two entities.

Koepka will be in a featured group when first-round action begins on Thursday, Jan. 29, playing alongside Ludvig Aberg and Max Homa. The Farmers Insurance Open will also mark the 2026 PGA Tour debut for Xander Schauffele. J.J. Spaun and Justin Rose are also golfers ranked among the top-10 in the world and playing in San Diego this week.

Harris English is the tournament’s defending champion, while Aberg won the Genesis Invitational in 2025 when it was moved to Torrey Pines due to the California wildfires last year. Golfers will play the Torrey Pines South and North courses one time apiece in Rounds 1 and 2, while the final two rounds of the event will be played on the south course.
