In the second round of the 2026 The American Express, Blades Brown carded a 12-under 60, setting a new course record at the Nicklaus Tournament Course.

The PGA TOUR returns to the United States’ mainland for one of its longest-standing events as The American Express gets underway in the Coachella Valley, welcoming what may be the strongest field in the tournament’s history. World No. 1 and reigning Player of the Year Scottie Scheffler headlines the action, making his long-awaited season debut, and immediately raises the stakes as the TOUR settles into its early rhythm. He’s joined by a star-studded cast that includes his best friend Sam Burns, Patrick Cantlay, Ludvig Åberg and Ben Griffin, alongside a deep mix of major champions, elite world-ranked players and emerging contenders eager to take advantage of the famously low-scoring conditions. With three courses in play and Aon Swing 5 points on the line, early FedExCup momentum is up for grabs as players look to position themselves for the season’s first Signature Events. Defending champion Sepp Straka returns aiming to buck history and repeat in the desert, while the Pete Dye Stadium Course once again sets the stage for a shootout that blends pristine desert scenery with one of the TOUR’s most player-friendly tests.

  1. 18 year old giving Scotty a run for his money
.. if this kid wasn't white, the entire world would know his name. Hate to say it but it's the truth

  2. He could be the next Jordan Spieth: Really mature at his young age, really good, well spoken, Mr. America.

  3. Can you even watch the pga tour anymore. I used to watch, but they don't want to show it on 4 basic channels. Funny how they want to make golf more global, but only the rich can watch it.

  4. NEW FAN OF THIS KID. The talent he has is incredible, but I am more impressed with his grateful attitude. He is 18 years old and just oozes class, humbleness and the best name in golf. BLADES IS THE MAN, go get it kid!!!!

  5. That chip technique with the wedge off the back foot is steeped in countless hours of junior golf

  6. What a round!! I really thought he had that birdie putt at the end as well, looked like he hit it well, just didn’t turn left. Keep it going kid!

  7. Grant Horvat had blades on a You tube video a while back
Remember this young man’s name folks !!! He is here to stay 😮

  8. “One of the hottest guys on the golf course right now” about an 18 year old is straddling the lines of complimentary and predatory
